Meet the team…

OK, so this post really is just for fun. A sneak preview of a page not yet available on the BH website, just because we can :-) Why not have a look at the BH Staff Team in all their glory…

Human Being not Human Doing

I was reflecting this morning on the wonderful liberating truth of justification by Faith alone. It frees us from the paralysis of trying to DO lots of things to please other people or to meet our own demanding standards. God has done EVERYTHING needed for us to be right with Him. Our worth comes from adoption into His family, and from His unconditional love for us, not from any other external source. Which is good news…

There is an excellent chapter applying this truth in Going the Distance which is a really good book about avoiding burn out in ministry. Highly recommended.

NT Wright on Authority

This is a rather old, but nonetheless extremely interesting article by NT Wright in which he provides some insiteful criticisms of many traditional ‘reformed’ approaches to Biblical Exposition. Well worth a look and a think. Will add some thoughts when I’ve considered this a bit more…
NT Wright on Authority

You can go here if you would like to buy some Books by NT Wright. In particular this one tackles the subject covered in the essay: Scripture and the Authority of God.

The New Look

I expect that those who were familiar with the ‘old look’ TheVirtualWord are few in number. But here, at last, is the ‘new look’. It has been re-built using the excellent WordPress software. Over the next few days we aim to get the original links that were here, updated and more organised. Then, we hope to add some exciting new functionality which will include relevant news stories from a variety of sites. So as before the message is, watch this space.

Welcome…

… to TheVirtualWord
This site exists to do two things:
1. Link to sites and news stories of relevance to the (evangelical) Christian world;
2. To provide a forum for the site moderator to add his random musings to the world wide web.

So a pretty standard blog then. Do come again.
