		<description>I think you&#039;re right that there&#039;s something in our (sub)culture that doesn&#039;t encourage a godly faith-fueled optimism. It might be something to do with being English (British?). It probably is related to eschatology. 

But often it is evidence of fairly straightforward unbelief. Whether a, pre or post, we should all actively believe that the gospel is the power of God for salvation, that God&#039;s grace is sufficient, that God&#039;s resources for us in Christ are vast, and so on.</description>
