Earlier this week it was announced that Rev Richard Coekin had won his appeal against the loss of his licence. Whilst I, for one, am pleased by this decision (since it seems to me that Rev Coekin is doing a great job in proclaiming the Gospel in Southwark diocese) I do not feel adequately [...]

Da Vinci and all that
So the blockbuster arrives and it does so with more of a whimper than a bang.
It seems hard to find a decent review of this much anticipated film (this one from The Times seems fairly typical). But this site isn’t about film reviews.
What’s all the fuss about?
It is quite hard to pin it down [...]
Britons unconvinced by evolution
So said a poll conducted by Mori on behalf of the BBC recently.
According to this article on the BBC website:
Over 2,000 participants took part in the survey, and were asked what best described their view of the origin and development of life:

17% opted for intelligent design
48% selected evolution theory
and the rest did not [...]
The Root of All Evil?
I didn’t manage to catch Richard Dawkins’ programme last Monday, but publish the following press release from the Evangelical Alliance with approval, since seems to reflect all that I have heard from Dawkins in the past.

Get Thinking!
This is a post just to highlight an excellent website by the UCCF which I have not looked at for a while. It is called BeThinking.org and is full of excellent resources and articles, which seek to engage with culture and provide some answers. There are audio versions of most of the talks [...]
Over 40% of Muslims back Christian values
This is a most intriguing article looking at the results of a survey on religious beliefs in Britain. Although it was based on a sample of only just over 1000 people, and so may not be statistically significant, the idea that over 40% of Muslims questioned thought that it was “important” that Britain [...]
Archbishop of York
Good news for the Church of England with the arrival of the new Archbishop of York, John Sentamu. He is the first black Archbishop in the history of the Church of England, and there is a sense of expectation about what he may achieve under God. He will certainly present a lively contrast [...]
